Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre

Monkey World has founded 2 charities: The Jim Cronin Memorial Fund for Primate Conservation and Welfare - Reg Charity No 1126939.

This charity was set up by Monkey World following the death of Jim Cronin, the founder of Monkey World. Jim wanted Alison (his wife & co-owner of Monkey World) to continue with his work and build an education centre so that future generations would understand why they do what they do.

The funds from the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund are used for their rescue and rehabilitation work. EAST - The Endangered Asian Species Trust - Reg Charity No 1115350

This charity was also set up by Jim and Alison Cronin and supports their work in Vietnam.

They currently have a 67 hectare island at the entrance to the Cat Tien National Park, where they rescue, rehabilitate and release gibbons native to this area.

Dao Tien Island is staffed by Monkey World Staff and is progressing nicely although seriously lacking in funds.

They have successfully released 2 primates onto the island and are currently installing the new electric fence on one of the semi wild enclosures.

To enable them to continue with these releases they are in dire need of funds, each primate released needs a GPS/GSM radio tracking collar, these collars enable their keepers to track and closely monitor the primates once released.
